Mayor Scott Clowater
Scott Clowater is the first Mayor for the Rural Community of Upper Miramichi. He attended Ludlow School and then Upper Miramichi Regional High School. He began his career with the Canadian Pacific Railway and worked in a number of larger centres like Montreal and Toronto. For 32 years he worked with the Department of National Defence until his retirement.
Through the years, he has been involved in many community projects including Board of Trade, Central NB Woodmen’s Museum, Boiestown Community School Library, and Region 3 Health Boards. He enjoys reading, classical music, gardening and cooking. He lives in the community with his wife, Beth and has two grown daughters.
His philosophy, it is “Don’t look back, enjoy life, enjoy people - Always move forward”
